Complaints & Appeals

How to raise concerns and appeal editorial decisions.

IJSMF is committed to handling complaints and appeals fairly, transparently, and professionally. Authors, reviewers, readers, and other stakeholders may submit concerns relating to the journal's editorial processes, peer review, publication ethics, authorship, conflicts of interest, publication decisions, or other journal-related matters.

Submitting a Complaint

Complaints should be submitted in writing to the Editorial Office. The complaint should include:

  • Name and contact details of the complainant
  • Manuscript ID or article details, where applicable
  • Clear description of the concern
  • Relevant supporting information or documentation

The editorial office will review the complaint and seek to provide an appropriate response within a reasonable period.

Appeals

Authors may appeal an editorial decision when they believe that a significant factual or procedural error has affected the decision. An appeal should clearly explain the manuscript concerned, the decision being appealed, the specific reason for the appeal, and any relevant evidence or additional information. An appeal should provide substantive grounds rather than simply expressing disagreement with the editorial decision.

Confidentiality

Complaints and appeals will be handled confidentially to the extent reasonably possible, while allowing the journal to investigate and address the matter appropriately.
